Looking for a DLX?
#21
no but she did often refer to me as another rodent lol

My son loves watching that show. I can't hardly hear or understand English accents

Edit: truth is I can barely hear period lol. Reading what someone is saying is so much easier for me

Just remember that with dealers the price you see is not the price you pay -- even on used bikes. They are going to add on an "inspection" fee (not the state inspection, their own looking it over) and a documentation fee. These are going to add about $400-$500 to the quoted price.

Not trying to start an argument here (on Dealer Fees) - but, not always. I just bought my DLX for less than their advertised, and with only one $75 added Doc Fee. Everything IS negotiable.

I agree that everything is open to negotiation, but maybe I am not a good negotiator because all I've gotten on my last few attempts at talking them down on either price or fees is "sorry, we can't do that", or "this is as low as we can go" and they let me walk.

I've watched so much British based TV that I cannot only understand the different regional dialects but can sometimes name the region. I've become multilingual, LOL.

Look for the phrase "plus tax only". My understanding is that you walk out the door paying only the price of the bike plus any state/local sales tax.

I've actually never seen that phrase at a dealer. The savvy buyer will ask for the "out the door" price, which includes everything.

In my recent shopping adventures, I've found a dealer who will sell me a new STD for only $7300. After his fees and other b.s., it was $8400. Another dealer advertised "no fees" but still wanted destination fees on top of his advertised price. Used bikes are much easier, as they are already delivered and setup. Doc fees are outrageous around here (Raleigh, NC) on cars, ranging from $400 to $700, all for the privilege of printing a Bill of Sale and taking the documents to the DMV. Criminals, all of them.

Which is why I prefer buying used, from an individual, whenever possible.

As for The ferret, sorry about your hearing loss, I'll try to type louder.

Speaking of... when I was younger, I'd ride without any thought to all of the noise. Now I don't even think about riding without earplugs. I even wear earplugs when mowing the grass, using my little battery powered leaf blower, hedge trimmers, etc. Heck, I slept in them last night (lots of crickets and wildlife outside).

My wife is so bad that if we watch a show with British actors, we have to turn on the subtitles. It drives me crazy (subtitles).

We were in London last month, and she wanted to go see a play. "Why in the world should I pay $300 so that you can sit there and not understand anything that they say?" I asked. She was miffed, but I found my logic to be unflappable. As usual.

Wink

But she's a peach. When I asked her if I could buy a motorcycle again, she didn't hesitate to say yes. Heart

Beemer guy, how about buying out of home state? I have bought many bikes in Florida mainly because I find better deals there. I only have to pay Georgia sales tax when I register the bike in my home county. My brother recently bought a 2014 STD from a Tallahassee, FL dealer for $7008 plus sales tax.

There is a great buy on a 2014 CB1100 DLX on Craigslist in Ohio...
