New (to me) 2014 DLX on the way...

I've dealt with Gold Coast motorsports before. I bought a new triumph there in 09. They are a dealership for Ducati, MV Augusta, triumph, BMW and some other European imports. They have been around for a bit. Never had any issues with them.

Wow, this is scary! Does anyone know if there were major differences in the California version? I know many have complained, on other bikes, of the "California pause" when rolling on. Is there differences in the mapping of the CB1100 in California versions?

Caution: Unless the vehicle was originally manufactured to meet California emission standards or the owner or vehicle qualifies for an exemption, California law prohibits:

California residents or businesses from bringing into California or registering in California, a motor vehicle that had less than 7,500 miles on the odometer (at the time of purchase, trade, or acquisition).

Considering how few DLX's, or even CB1100's of any type for that matter, were brought into the U.S., it wouldn't have made sense for Honda to not make them all 50-state compliant.

As far as I know, all the US CB's are 50 state compliant.

It is my understanding - from talking with a Honda dealer, that all of the 2013/2014 U.S. imported CB-1100's are 50-state compliant. Before I purchased my New York bike, bound for California - I had the dealer send me a photo of the compliance sticker because of the 7,500 mile minimum requirement. California is VERY strict about this. (see bottom two lines on the top sticker)

Congrats to all above in securing their DLX's. You DO need to move fast when you see them as I suspect they won't last long if reasonably priced. (Ex. I know of two still for sale at $9,999 - that's NOT a reasonable price).

I'll post the California transfer title & registration process - with required paperwork after I successfully navigate it.

I'll be as transparent as I can as we're all here to help each other with information, tips & tricks, recommendations, etc. I will soon have MY stupid questions too - please be patient with me. We all value more the more we share.

Its easy! its in the owners manual. Which is under the seat...

Put the key in the lockset above the left passenger peg. Turn it as far as it will go. There is a tab on the backside of the lockset. Push that tab down after turning the key and the seat will be unlocked. Lift the rear of the seat whilst pushing that tab down.

Then consult the owner's manual to find out how to unlock the seat.
