Of course both of the dollars I keep in my left front pocket might get wet, but I suppose they will dry out eventually. I will pull into a fast food restaurant, get a cup of cold water and poor it over my tee shirt under my jacket and open the vents on the jacket all the way to get cool, but the ice thing is new to me.
ba-dump-TSH...
I used to wear a long sleeve cotton T-shirt, and keep a small bicycling water bottle handy for sleeve dousing. But the ice lasts longer, is a more gradual release, and requires less effort & stopping to redouse.
I rode past a gas station thermometer once that said 128 degrees. I passed 3 semi trucks that were making a terrible clattering noise, but on the third one I finally realized that noise was from my Harley Sportster bouncing off the trucks. I stopped for half an hour and let that poor Sporty engine cool down a little, then I got a cheap hotelroom in Lake Havasu City until it cooled down to 100 that night.
Glad I ain't young & dumb like that anymore. Riding across the desert in those kinda temps ain't fun and it's borderline dangerous.
