2023 Rider Resolutions - Motorcyling Goals, Plans, Aspirations
#21
I never make resolutions because I probably wouldn't stick to them anyway.
My plan is to simply keep doing what I've been doing for years and riding the CB (and others) as often as I can.
I know, boring ROFLROFLROFL

I need to add something to my 2023 resolutions:
- Come to the realization that I will probably never check the valve clearances on my CB1100 and find comfort in Honda's superior engineering.

Amen. That, and other Honda models too. Smile

The same as Rocky said. The only thing I can add is I plan on going to the 2023 East Coast Rally.

Hope to see you there, Suhawk

Going to add this, but it’s not technically a riding resolution for 2023 - Save enough $$ this year to take a riding tour of Scotland in 2024 with Cheryl and our friends Glen and Laura.

2023 recap .......

Had another good year... 340 days ridden (over 300 for the 6th time out of the last 10 years) and 20,740 miles (over 20K for the 9th time in the last 10 years)

Only missed 25 days of riding all year. Lost 11 days to weather (surprisingly only 1 snow day), 2 days to medical (only 1 for me, but 1 for my younger brother as well) and 12 days to flying/driving vacation with my wife to visit 3 National Parks we hadn't been to in 3 states and another car trip to Mississippi.

My wife bought a Yamaha Scooter and I was able to ride 54 days and 2,564 miles with her.

Attended the CB 1100 rally in Virginia (made all of them so far) after riding down with Empty Sea and OffroadFx4 and back with Offroad. They continue to be good riding companions and friends made through this forum. Was great riding with and visiting with all the forum members who were able to attend the rally....and I got to meet Ollie and Gold Oxide. If you don't make it to one of these rally's, you are really missing out on part of the forum experience...

Was also able to test ride, report back and help transport another forum member/friend Kiowa Eagle from Pennsylvania with the purchase of a bike here in Cincinnati.

Hope you all had a productive year of motorcycling in 2023,

Here's to a healthy happy fun and safe 2024 Worship

This year started with me enjoying riding my CB after finally getting the fast idle problem solved. In March, I tore up my rotator cuff again and, this time, learned shoulder replacement surgery was required. Since successful complete reverse shoulder surgery in August, I have been reluctant to get back on the bike. If anything happens to that shoulder, it probably can't be repaired very well. The shoulder is pretty much back to something resembling normal. I am certain I can ride as well as I ever could. So now I must make the decision to start riding again, or quit and sell the bike. Stay tuned.
I wish you all a safe and fulfilling New Year with lots of fun folk doing fun things.
