Beadrider Anyone

Well I got my AirHawk II for Fathers Day and will be returning it tomorrow. I like my Alaska buttpad and liked my beadrider; however, the Airhawk isn't doing it for me. I tried a couple of different inflations(all very low) but found it to have a couple of significant flaws. First, unlike the beadrider, it doesn't help with cooling, in fact, it seems to make things worse. Second, since your butt displaces the air and assuming you don't have a huge butt, the air flows into the other compartments as for example, the two large compartments strategically located at the front of the pad. I now understand why they have come out with the AirHawk R version. (Designed to be cooler and solve the 'crushage' situation). That aside, zipping around curves, accelerating, decelerating in only a slightly spirited manner I felt much less planted to the bike Interestingly, I never felt that way with a beadrider. It's curious to me since these get rave reviews. I wonder if the people using these are mostly cruising down the interstate or perhaps their posteriors cover a larger surface area than mine so weight shifts aren't problematic.
Oh well. It's looking like I may have to figure out how to hide a $450 after market seat purchase.

I use my Airhawk2 in the extreme North Georgia Mountains (Hwy 60, 129, 180, etc) .. and my experience would be 100% opposite of what you posted.

I know, like I said, they get great reviews so I was extremely disappointed.. I fiddled with various pressures from the butt just barely touching the seat to 1/2" off the seat all to no avail. I also tried various seating positions. All to no avail. Given what they say about their new model R, I have to think I am not alone with some of the issues. However, if there is some magic, let me know.
