That really looks great on the bike. The first thing I did to my bike was to remove the OEM rack that the previous owner installed, so I guess I'm not much of a rack guy either. I added a grab bar later.
I like the way they emphasized the grab bar portion. It looks like a grab bar with a small rack attached, rather than a rack with a grab bar.
On another note, you guys never cease to amaze.

Kudos to Django, I say, and nicely installed, Ferret. It looks great on your bike.

Recieved this tasty tidbit via mail the other day.

It's a Fehling rack made in Germany. Kind of a long story goes with it. I first saw this rack in pictures of Django's CB1100. Now, I'm not a luggage rack kinda guy, but I liked how small it was, and how the vertical part resembled a grab rail from an early Honda CB750 (only with a really small rack attached to it). Decided I wanted one. I tried every Fehling distributor in the country and NO ONE would order this rack for me, not even Touratec. So I pm'd our fellow forum member Django to see if he could get me one. Django offered to obtain the rack for me and then ship it to me. Very generous offer on his part I must say. He only knows me as the Ferret. Anyhow he ordered the rack. A while later he got a message from Fehling that the rack was out of stock (it only fits the EX/Dlx's) and they didn't know when or IF they were going to make any more. RATS! well ok, no rack. No big deal. Sad

A few weeks later he gets another message that they are going to make some more and did he still want it? Banana Yes, I said. Then he called Fehling and found out it could be shipped directly to me. Cool. Paypal transaction completed thanks to my son. Now the wait begins. Django persistantly checks on it and finally recieves word that it has been shipped along with obtaining a DHL tracking number for me. I wait and wait. Wanted it before I left for Florida but it never came. Checked the DHL tracking number and it seemed to be in Germany forever, and then tracking stopped. Since I was gone I had my son driving to my house every day looking for a DHL package on the porch or by the garage. Nope. Finally I pm'd Django and Fehling. Djano advised patience ( he is waiting on an aerostitch roadcrafter from USA). Fehling says their tracking stops in Germany. Then they send me aother message saying that USPS had it and tried to deliver it. Now, I had a stop mail on my US post stuff so just maybe..... Got home Sat night at 9 and at 7:30 am Monday I was down at our local post office (small town post office where they know you). Now they don't open until 9 AM, but Mitzi my awesome mail lady saw me pull in and came over to see what was up. Mitzi are you holding a big box for me? Uh huh, would you like it? Oh yea................. Would you like the rest of your mail too? who cares, just give me the box. Excited

Brother came over today and used 1/2 of Pteros excellent tute to install plus some advice from Django as to which spacers went where etc. Install went quite smoothly. Looks good don't you think? Thumbs Up

Big shout out to our buddy Django for going absolutely above and beyond the call of duty in helping a fellow forum member/motorcyclist out. It had to be a pain for him. He even sent me German install instructions and hardware pictures. The whole 9 yards.Django, thanks again, I am in your debt sir. Worship

Anyhow, those going to the rally can see it in person. Pretty sure it's the only one like it in this country. Celebrate

As are you my friend. A perfect match I'd say. Biker

Nicely done Django!

Awesome so there are two of us eh? Cool. Sounds like you got a good deal.

Wierd that you can order from Mr. T in Japan and it gets here in a week or less, but order from Germany and it takes a looooong time to get here.
