Notwithstanding a product failure/defect in the battery itself, life depends a lot on where you live.
Batteries exposed to the constant heat of southern states, for example, have a much shorter life.
Up here in Eskimo land I easily get 7-8 years out of the Yuasa batteries I use.
The original battery that came with my '06 Bonneville is still good, but I replaced it last week rather than temp fate any longer.
It doesn't owe me anything after all this time
