Dumped your bike?
#11
My first dump (motorcycle) was the day after I'd bought my first bike (a CB175). I was very young. I don't recall, but it must have been the beginning of spring as I rode through the city. I was distracted by a very pretty woman sashaying down the pavement and rode straight into the back of a car that stopped in front of me. It was very slow and there was minimal damage other than a dented front mudguard (fender). I've not recovered from the damage to my pride.

1969 ran my 305 scrambler into the passenger door of a lady that turned in front of me. totaled the bike
1973 dropped my TX 650 with my wife on the back going downhill in the grass to a camping spot at Red River Gorge Ky I think ...no damage
1990 dropped my 85 V65 Sabre with my wife on back, making a U turn in a parking lot about 6 miles from home, no damage
2010 dropped a rented 2010 BMW R 1200R with my wife on back in a parking lot in Germany, scratched valve cover
2018 dropped my FRJ in West Virginia making a U turn in a parking lot..probably $2500 in damage that are just scratches to expensive pieces

11 years and 100,000 miles I never dropped my ST

As you can see I should just concentrate on going straight and no U turns in parking lots lol

I dropped my Suzuki GS500 when trying to push start it by myself in an underground parking. My experience with bikes was... 2 months.

Bad idea, but I was late for work.

No damage. That thing was tough!

Honda CBR25r

Pulled into an elementary school driveway to turn around. Slow-speed u-turn, dropped in front of 100 6-10 year olds exiting the school and their moms and bus drivers waiting for them. No real damage to the bike. Slight damage to the ego. Rode home.

Got home. Pulled into driveway as my daughter was backing out. I thought the vehicle was parked until it started moving. Bailed onto the lawn where I proceeded to drop the bike for the second time that day, this time in front of daughter, wife, and three neighbors who asked if I was OK. No damage to the bike. Slight damage to the ego. Parked bike and read up on looking where you want to go.

Ferret, quick thread derail, but I gotta ask: How did you like that V65 Sabre? Scale of 1 to 10.

Big blocky bike with lots of power. Very tall and top heavy. Great sound. 1-10? maybe a 7. I sold my son my 83 GS1100E Suzuki and bought the Sabre to replace it. I think I liked the GS1100E better all over all.

I've been using my rear brakes some to make tight turns in parking lots it helps but I would like to practice it more just on someone else's bike haha.
