I went to my local dealer today to get a new Yuasa OEM battery , but I checked the manufactory date on the back and it was from May 2019.
I do not mind if it is a few months old but a year is too much.
Batteries might not suffer as much sitting on a shelf than being in a hot bike but it is worth checking when you buy a NEW battery . I just go back in a while , my old one is getting close to 4 years old and that is the time I put a new one in my bikes.
