Watched this in amazement some years ago, this guy took his truck engine apart after 1 million miles and found that it had very little wear and was very clean.
His comment at 05:50 "one gallon of 80/90 gear lube at every oil change" and a knowledgeable older mechanic was fascinating.
the explanation of the video;
Rawze here from Rawze.com -- Took my ISX CM871 engine apart at 955k miles as a preventative measure after it developed a small leak in an injector cup at cylinder #6. It has always been well taken care of. -- Since the engine was new, I have always used regular Rotella-T oil, but I add one gallon of GL-4 (or GL-5) 80/90 gear lube to it. At the time the enigne was disasembled, nothing special was done and the oil had 22,000 miles on it already.
