The meter sends to the ECU: Rear wheel speed sensor signal
The ECU sends to the meter: High oil temperature indicator signal, Engine speed signal, MIL signal, Fuel pulse signal.
What I don't understand is that if the rev limit is based on speed, how did the bike rev above 5,000 rpm with the stock meter on when it's sitting still or in Neutral?
Because of that, I've been wondering if there is some way to maybe trick my bike's ECU to make it think the original meter is hooked up. I've thought about getting into an Adurino device just to have it hooked up to the original speed sensor and send a signal back to the ECU, but I am not a programmer so that's not likely an option unless I find someone else who is.
