Hey all, just put a deposit down on a CB1100 today. I won't pick it up for another two days, but I can't wait to put some miles on her. My very first bike was a 2012 Triumph Bonneville and I plan to keep her forever. I've cafe'd it a little and it's been a great bike. It's got loads of character and is a ton of fun to ride.
So far I have only ridden the CB on a short test ride (about 5 miles), so it will take some time before I can give a thorough review. But so far, it's incredibly smooth. Almost electric smooth. The brakes had great bite and feel. Not as grabby or strong as the brembos on my Speed Triple, but very progressive. I love the riding position and plan on using it for pillion with the wife, commuting, and general touring. I think it will excel in these aspects and provide plenty of fun doing it. To sum up the test ride, it was very relaxing and serene. Motorcycling in it's purist form, you forget about all the troubles of the day and just enjoy the elements and surroundings.
