Honda has high hopes for the CTX line. They're hoping it "re-ignites" the motorcycle market by making it easier and cheaper for new riders to enter. Same goes for the new line of 500's. I wish them well, but unless gas gets up to $5 or more, I don't see another growth curve like the 70's and early 80's. Cars are too cheap and good these days; you can buy a 4 seat Scion car with A/C and a stereo for what I paid for my ABS CB.
As for CB sales: I'd actually prefer they didn't sell well. With the Japan accessories market available, I kind of like the idea of having a "rare" bike. People are still checking out the CB all the time; last week a guy followed me into the parking lot at work so he could look it over and ask a bunch of questions about it.
