I don't think there's any immediate danger of Honda dropping this model from their lineup. I remember reading a quote from a Honda USA exec.(can't remember where I read it at this point) who said they aren't going to chase volume on this model, but will rather be satisfied with steady sales, and will purposely limit volume to give it a better chance to stick around and avoid unrealistic expectations as occurred with Hawk GTs and CB-1s back in the 90s.
If you know anything about the Subaru BRZ sports car, they pursued a similar strategy of limiting ultimate volume and consider that car a great success after 1-1/2 years of sales.
BTW, I was at the dealer where I bought my bike yesterday and my salesman said they'd sold 5 bikes so far; they have a 6th sitting on the floor. This is in little ol' Mandan, North Dakota, population 25,000 or so.
