Well, I stumbled onto something the other day: I was riding along and I stretched my shoulders by moving my head and upper body towards the headlight maybe a foot and the wind noise increased noticeably. I realize that the mirrors might be making it worse because my head was almost between them, but I'm wondering if the instrument panel is contributing somewhat to the lack of wind noise? I got my Concours 14 out and put the windshield all the way down and it seems noisier that my CB!
yes, the instrument panel serves as mini windscreen. It's not your imagination, I installed a windscreen to protect my chest from 40s wind, riding is far more NOISY.
The tiny stock windscreen on Kawa KLR650 7 yrs ago is not a joke, it is effective. I actually want to cut a small piece of stainless steel sheet metal to install on my bike
