The blended gas has been a problem for folks that have plastic gas tanks. Especially European models, the ethanol causes them to swell, sometimes badly, giving warranty problems. Can't use a magnetic tank bag either. 
Some recent Moto Guzzi models used the a connector in the fuel pump system embedded in the tank that swelled up causing the fuel line to pop out stranding the rider. Oops.
Metal tanks will have their problems too but ethanol is not one of them.
