Let there be a lesson to all of us here used to old-school petcocks: be mindful of the fuel gauge and when the gauge blinks, its time to gas-up.
My 81 CBX 6 cylinder had a .8 gallon reserve, and that bike averaged only 30 mpg, meaning it was an emergency to find a gas station ASAP when you ran low.
