I guess what I am saying is, you either like this bike or you didn't, if you needed a six speed and a larger tank and four into two pipes and higher bars and a different seat and double wall headers and so on and so on..... Maybe you should have bought a different motorcycle.
Well. I can only guess the other guys liked the bike because, like me, they put their money where their mouth (and heart) was. It hit a lot of the right buttons. For some of us further work was needed to make "perfect". Let's face it, Honda tapped the keg of ideas with this bike and things like the White House bike came forth. Since we're all a wee bit different with a slightly different set of hot buttons (spoked wheels, four into four, four into two, windscreens - fairings, color etc.) and this bike hit many of them - but not all of them. How could it? We all prioritize our hot buttons differently and the Deluxe/EX hits a different set. But Honda is having some fun by making their own "custom" version of the CB1100.
Naturally; some features became desirable only after using the bike for a while so naturally we all wanted to improve things. Who knew Honda would do it so soon after letting the bike into the US market?
So I reserve the right to whine and wring my hands.
