As others have inferred on this thread, trading in any motor vehicle is the most expensive way to get rid of one and buy another one. Dealers always look at this proposition as a "double-ender" as in making money on both. You end up selling wholesale and buying retail. It's certainly convenient in that you can drive in with your old model, do some paperwork and then drive out with the new one but you pay dearly for the convenience. Better to sell privately then go make your best deal on the new one.
