You see I managed without a bike for transport all my life, but chose to have one since (before I was allowed one aged 14) my youth.
My point is, I now own one at great expense, solely for the purpose of 'rides'.
I don't commute to work on it, I don't do family holidays on it. I just take it out, and ride around for relaxation.
Bearing on mind the UK bikes are comparatively better specified, with better warranties, breakdown cover etc, why would I care about fuel consumption?
If that were an issue I'd just have saved £8000 and sat at home watching YouTube.
