I'm no iron butt, and I agree that the CB's seat can be less than comfortable at times, but I just completed a week-long trip that included a few 300 mile days and I have logged three other 500+ mile days. Sure, I have to get off and stretch every couple of hours, but so do riders on Goldwings or STs. I'm not buying the tire wear issue either. My bike has no windscreen and no side bags. For my trips I have a waterproof duffel with a dry bag strapped to it on the back of the bike and a tank bag. The bike works better than OK for distance travel. Much better.
Yes, I'd love to have a true touring or sport touring bike in addition to the CB, but I don't have that luxury right now. Could not be happier with my choice of the CB as my one bike.
