I dumped and rolled a few times ending up on my back on the left shoulder and never lost consciousness. Two people stopped to help and called EMS, neither of them being the person that hit me. So all of this is coming out of MY insurance and pocket unless someone find this individual and then I will sue....with no mercy because as far as I'm concerned they left me for dead on the side of the freeway.
I don't want a debate about lane splitting/sharing so please don't go there.
Thanks, Randy.
Randy, sorry this happened to you! I can only imagine how upset I would be if this happened to me.
That being said, while I realize that lane splitting may be a legal, common practice in CA, this is the exact reason I don't do it myself. It's not exactly a risk averse move. That, and I don't really care for the perception of motorcyclists that this type of behavior propagates.
Heal up soon, best of luck from a legal perspective!

Jeez, that didn't take long. Randy only mentioned lane splitting in response to a question asked of him. If people want to debate lane splitting, I would encourage them to start a new thread and leave it out if this one.
Heal well Randy.
