Jheck10 I have done two multi-day trips on my CB, here are my ride reports:

Personally I believe my '11 performs beautifully on long trips. I'm about 6ft so I had to purchase a taller seat. Other touring accessories that have made life easier have been the luggage rack, soft pannier bags, lambs wool seat cover and a tank bag. My bike did come with a small screen but I actually find it more comfortable (and stylish) without, I find it tends to direct air towards the top of your forehead rather than evenly across your upper body, leaving you bobbing around like a bobble head.
However the CB is only my second bike, the first being a Ninja 250R so I'm not exactly an expert when it comes to recommendations. Without a doubt your ST would definitely be the superior sports-tourer but if you're looking to downsize your collection then I think a CB1100 could be a worthy choice.
