I think my only concern about carrying would be that I could land on a large hunk of steel in a crash. I think that might smart a bit more than just hitting the ground. but I carry my phone and a pen and sometimes a cigar lighter, so I guess it's all about making the choice that makes you feel safe and comfortable.
