The first CB I saw was in the Honda tent at Biketoberfest in Daytona. I'd already put down my deposit at the dealer for a March delivery. Coming off the VStrom 1000 it definitely looked small, and I had a few second thoughts. I also noticed the headers were really dirty and was surprised Honda hadn't tidied up their demo bike before putting it out on display.
Alls well that ends well though. Ive found the compact size makes the bike more fun to ride, not less, and I have a hobby now seeking new and exciting processes for cleaning stainless steel in the privacy of my own garage.
