You can arrange to have your page/photographs open to the public or to just members. If it's just members you can set your security settings to everybody, friends of friends or just friends and from what I understand, to just members of that page.
I got sucked into Facebook when I created an account to test web filtering in a lab. Had to make sure FB came through. Connected with old high school friends (some, it was great to hear from again but they had turned into wacko's
), met new friends, especially motorcycling types from all over the world. I also use it to post dog agility pictures from trials so I have all these dog people as friends because I capture their dogs in action. Once I retire I may have to charge for that!
But it's just a tool. Like any tool, to get the most out of it takes some skills, and not all tools are for everyone. It it interesting to see how some people grew and got better and a bit depressing how others turned sour and down right sad how life ended being so cruel to some.
