I've ridden air cooled bikes in the desert since the 80s. Never had any heat related issues. As long as you change the oil regularly, I don't think a hot climate makes much difference.
On the same note, I've never bought an extended warranty for any Japanese bike and never was in a position where I wished I had. If you treat these bikes right, chances of expensive failures are pretty darned slim.
