There definitely is a gap, I can't quite tell how much though. Regardless, I'm more inclined to think they did the repair correctly now.
So, the gap I'm talking about would be if the cluster came straight up towards you in your picture, coming up along the longitudinal axis of the cylinder. I first noticed it when I turned the key off and it felt like it was in a tunnel because the cluster was up higher than I remember. I'm at work now, but I'll see if I can post a photo that better shows what I'm talking about.
