US '13 Black Engine Finish Flaking Off!!

I also have 3 or 4 chipped spots on the fins. I think in my case it might be stone chips. Our CB1100 has a small front fender and I have been known to travel gravel roads. My centerstand looks like it has been sandblasted. Not much paint left on the centerstand in quite a few areas. I might touch the centerstand up with some rattle can black but the fins I will leave be.

I may be wrong but I think the cause is riding so many gravel roads. I will paint it.
