And my original 1970 Plymouth Road Runner that I sold in 1975 for about the same as its original price of around $2,700 IIRC, recently was advertised for $132,000. Not a typo!

I didn't say that many kids were "buying" in that price range, I said that they lust after those cars. The new Camaro is styled after the 1969 Camaro for good reasons. The new Dodge Challenger is styled after the 1969 Challenger for the same reason. And the last three redesigns of the Mustang incorporate countless styling cues from 1960s Mustangs. You probably never saw the movie "Gone in 60 Seconds" that was phenomenally popular with young boys and featured a 1960s Shelby Mustang. Here in Scottsdale Arizona I see high school boys driving 1964 to 1969 standard Mustangs because they can't afford the fast backs and they certainly can't afford a genuine Shelby. Before it even came out the new Camaro drove young kids crazy during the "Transformers" movie with its 1969 styling. Kids cheered when that car came on the screen. When my young nephews were 14 and 15 years old, they saved their own money to purchase books about 1960s Shelby Mustangs. And you should see the reaction my 1965, 289 Mustang got when I picked my son up from school. All the best.

Chip, you nailed it. Cool is cool and always will be. A little over ten years ago when they announced the 5th Gen Mustang that finally looked like a "real" Mustang again, I told my wife I had to have one eventually. Four years ago, I picked up a clean 2006, modded it nicely, and it's been my daily driver since. I get more thumbs up at stoplights and typically it's 20-30-somethings who are grinning the widest. The CB1100 follows that same mold, borrowing from all that was great in an earlier era, and I told my wife I had to have one as soon as I saw they would sell some in the US. Thank God for timing that I live in an era filled with high quality throwback models, two and four wheeled both, and also happen to be at an age when I finally can afford more toys. It will be 60+ degrees and sunny here in the Portland area tomorrow, and I'll take both the Mustang and the CB out for a spin. I can't wait. Seems like it's been a long winter here in the NW.
