It doesn't have ABS. This is something I should have been looking for; ever since my R1200GS, where ABS saved me when a deer jumped out on a damp road...I swore I'd never be without it.
My Burgman has it, although I know that the Japanese ABS of those years (2007) wasn't as refined as the system BMW was using later. Even MORE crude, the alleged ABS on my 1999 BMW...actually has a mechanical pump; and it's noisy.
But it's there and has a self-test.
This one does not. The skinny tires, every reviewer comments, aid handling (and I'd agree with that) but they're not the best for a panic stop.
I done what I done and it was never presented as having it; so I can't call foul. But I hope this isn't something that makes a huge difference in life later down the road...
FWIW...it's the "standard" model; blacked-out engine. Which would look kewel if the rest of the bike wasn't black. As the years progress, I may have the tank and side panels painted. Maybe, RED.
