ABS indicator fault

I would check the wheel encoder ring for "roundness" and cleanliness. Also inspect the associated sensor for obstructions and cleanliness.

Failing that, intermittent behaviour many times is associated with loose wire connections with the circuit.

Thanks for the response. I’ve checked the rings for any issues and also for obstructions/dirt but nothing visible. It must be a wiring issue I reckon.

First, a lot of the people who usually reply are at the rally. And I am at work away from my service manual.

What year and model CB do you have?

The ABS works off the inputs of the rear wheel pulser ring and sensor, and the front wheel ring and sensor. If your speedometer is working properly I would say the rear wheel ring and sensor are ok and you should take a look at the front.

Ensure the ring is not bent ANY and that the sensor and wiring are not damaged. If the ring is bent or damaged in any way you are going to have to replace it. So far no one has had any luck in trying to straighten a pulser ring. When I get home I can check the manual for the sensor gap spec and ABS troubleshooting.

You could also pull the tank and reseat the connectors on the ABS module.

GO posted while I was typing.
Thanks for your message. Mine is a 2018 EX. I have checked the front and rear rings but all appears to be in order. I’ve been in touch with the company I bought it off and it should be covered under their 30 day warranty so I’m going to have it looked at by a local mechanic. Hopefully that will get it resolved.

Yes, basically the bike works in every way except for the ABS not working.
