I just don't get all these bird beak bikes. First off, with the lower fender, the beak just doesn't seem to fulfill any purpose. And, as a styling exercise, I find them to be utt bugly.

I whole-heartedly agree! My brother-in-law has one of those and he thinks it's the "cat's meow". I see no real shape or form. Looks kinda Frankenstein-ish to me. To each his own I guess.

I LOVE the looks of the CB but even at a short 5'7", IMHO it's a cozy riding position. I don't know how tall guys do it. I am looking at taller saddles, lower pegs, ROX risers and longer brake lines to make things better, but at the same time, I don't want to ruin the bikes classic lines.
I'm with your BIL...I too have been spoiled by the La-Z-Boy seating of the "Built for 6'3" tall Germans" GS! I was able to do 12-15 hour days back to back for over a week in June with no trouble at all. The beauty of the GS is it's "CAN DO! Do it all" attitude.
