I think the CB1100 is a good example of this, at least in the U.S. The press unanimously praised the bike, but either Honda overestimated the demand, 1970-80 Japanese bikes are less appealing than experts thought, the pricing was off, or some combination thereof. Certainly, riders have never been older than they are now, so maybe those who are still riding are opting for lighter alternatives (or Harleys). In any event, it's a shame the bike only lasted two years here, because it's one heck of a mousetrap.
