Portland IMS show

That's unfortunate. I went last year to the Long Beach show and enjoyed it. All the manufacturers were represented along with the latest machines. I wonder if participating in all these shows is simply not worthwhile for manufacturers who understandably focus on the larger venues like Milan and Tokyo.

This year's show conflicts with my mother's birthday. I've been debating taking that Friday off and just going up for the first day. I'm leaning towards doing that and, if I do, I'll come back here and share my impressions.
