MTC, that article brings into play other causes for a tyre appearing to be off centre. A chain adjustment gone wrong or a bent frame for example. String alignments were common on cars in the good old bad old days and some people still do them at home. Without toe in and camber to complicate matters, a string alignment on a motorcycle is a straightforward way of checking that a chain adjustment has been carried out correctly. It's not an exact science but if a string alignment check was way out it would be cause for further investigation. Thanks for posting.
