Anti-theft systems?

I put a cable lock around the back wheel and pass it around the left side shock. As far as riding away with it still on,I carry a roll of red electrical tape and put a piece of it on the igniton key to remind me the lock is on.I feel this method is safer that putting tape over the ignition itself as it will prevent someone seeing the tape and pulling a prank by removing it.
