I use the Xena alarm disc lock. It is a good quality lock with a very loud alarm. If anyone so much as touches your bike, including you, it will trigger so you cannot forget to remove it before riding off. They come in various sizes, I got the smallest one as it is easy to carry and will deter all but the professional thief. Mine cost £35 (approx $50).
