Selling a special, should I split it?

I think there are at least two types of customer: One who will only consider a bike in stock, OE condition, and another who is attracted to customs and will be willing to pay up. In my experience, the first group outnumbers the second. I think stock bikes are easier to sell and tend to hold their value better. Accessories and customization often don't command much premium to the buyer, regardless of their appeal to the seller. That being said, the used bike market in the UK might be completely different.
