After a lot of reading on this forum, I bought the Puig Naked New Generation in black with a dark smoke insert. It looked fantastic on my black CB. It seemed the perfect solution for the hot Texas summer with enough protection for the occasional freeway jaunt. I really wanted to keep it, but I sent it back. Here's why:
- It buzzed annoyingly between 2500-3500 rpm, right where I cruise at. It was so loud, I could hear it in my full face helmet with the face shield down. I tried everything. I even bought silicone washers to isolate all the screws and mounting points. Nothing worked.
- A couple of the bolt ends on the interior of the shield were too long. They came in contact with the tach and speedo housings whenever my speed was above 45 and there was more wind pressure on the shield. <Grrr...> I could cut the bolts, or put in an extra washer to shorten them. Because of the way the shield mounts, you can't adjust the distance/height/angle without bending the aluminum support bars. And they're stout enough that you need a vise.
You shouldn't have to go through all that crap for a windshield specifically designed for this bike. So I sent it back and will try something different.
