When I crashed the Griso a few years back and took out my clavical it didn't heal. Ended up getting a plate installed (but probably too late). It seemed to take forever to heal up (otherwise a healthy person). Most annoying when bits don't bond up like you expect. My doc said it was paying the piper. 
Eventually things do mend and you can get back to life as you expect to live it and this will be just a bad memory. In the mean time, you just get to bide your time. sigh.
