I'd try a small amount of Acetone on a soft cotton cloth first.
Acetone is a universal solvent for many types of plastic and synthetic fabric.
Just keep it away from any other painted or clear coated surfaces.
Many of the methods listed above may work, but with some of them there is also the potential to scratch the stainless steel or create a cloudy spot.
