I don't know if my experience with my recent order and purchase (November 2016) of my new CB1100 std would be if any assistance with your decision. When I was shopping for the CB1100 in my local area, I found a 2013 CB1100 for $6,295 with 4,295 miles on the odo. This was at a Kawasaki Dealer and the salesperson did not seem too interested in talking to me. I went to the Honda dealer and they had no CB1100's on the floor. They offered to order me one for near the MSRP minus an $1,000 Honda Bucks discount promotion. They did not charge destination or assembly costs. Like a child in a candy store, I bit. After reading other forum member's purchase experiences, I realized I paid (much) more than others. Some other forum members found great deals for their CBs, with almost no miles on the odo. I assume I would of had more negotiation opportunities if I bought an on the floor-leftover CB.
This my first brand new Motorcycle, all my others Honda's were purchased used. My CB1100 will probably be my last motorcycle purchase. (Just ask my wife!)
As Cormanus said above, I guess you have to decide new, or used with money left for farkles.
