To your point about Arlen Ness, assuming it was the styling of the bikes that ultimately hurt their acceptance in the marketplace, I would offer that Victory could have been out of touch. The largest US market for bikes is California, and I could be wrong but I don't think "pavement pounding boulevard cruisers" are what's in demand for riders with such close access to mountains, twisties, etc. No offense to anyone here, but Victory seemed like a "Midwest bike," good for stoplight-to-stoplight profiling but maybe not much else. Not sure that's appealing in the country's largest motorcycle market. Okay, I'm ducking for cover now...
