Sorry in advance for the long read and threadjacking my own thread but the personal touches on that bike deserve an explanation.
It's a '72 Tiger 650 that my father bought new. First bike I ever sat on.
I had it built by a Triumph specialist to my design.
Me and Dad wanted to build it together into what you see here but I couldn't do it without him after he was killed by a left hand turning vehicle on a ride with me a week after I got back from my honeymoon in 2012 on "The Route" to and from my house. He didn't have a garage so his bike was kept in my garage up the road. "The Route" was created over the course of the last 4 or 5 years of his life when he got a second divorce and wanted my help in getting a sport bike like mine after not riding for many years. Through motorcycling together during that time our kinship was surpassed by our friendship and we laced the turns on those roads together and alone as much as we could.

This is it with the cafe seat and lower bars that were bent by the shipping company that brought it from the builder's to my house.
I had higher bars put on it by the shop that did the repairs. Just replaced the bars and the broken thumb switches and housings. No other damage which seemed a miracle in itself.

These are the higher "Daytona" bars because the lower bars were just a bit too low for me. The bend from the shipping damage was minimal and from sitting on the bike before I got it to the shop for repairs I could tell the bars were too low. They were the look I wanted but I also wanted the best degree of comfort.
In this pic it's got the stock style seat Installed because I haven't gotten the time to put the cafe seat back on after bringing it to and from the shop that did the repairs.
Note the registration sticker that was carefully peeled off the front fork and cleared into the rear fender.

Fenders chopped and shaped.
Rearsets.
Raised edge 18 inch rims. The front is normally a 19 inch stock.
Smaller tail light and turn signals.
Engine has been rebuilt. It's bored a little, a Modern single carb for simplicity, and electronic ignition.
Basically brand new.
The choke lever will be back on the bar with no cable or function but I used to play with it when I was a kid.
Standalone, as a motorcycle without all the "dead dad" cuss, it's a really cool bike and I'm proud of the design that was in place while he was alive in some aspects. I was going to do the "Dad's 650" logo anyway.
I haven't even ridden it yet. I'm a little sketchy on squeezing the drum brake sufficiently after crashing this thing last Father's Day and dislocating my thumb that is now not as strong as it could be! Broke my ankle and bruised ribs too. I couldn't squeeze it hard enough to stop the bike on the ramps while unloading it by myself after getting the shipping damage repaired. Hahahaha! Crazy, huh!?
