vtwindr, I'm not sure there was a 2016 model anywhere other than Canada, Japan and maybe other Asian countries. So any new CB1100s sold in the UK in 2016 (and 2015) would have been 2014 model bikes.
The tank design is new in 2017 and I reckon the mufflers are a nicer design. There may be something different about the front forks, but otherwise the bikes are pretty similar. I'll see if I can find the thread where a member compared the 2017 EX and RS models.
