Touring

I had a 1979 Honda CB 750F that I toured the western half of the country. It was fantastic and served me well, very well.
Now I have the 2014 CB 1100 EX. Man, this bike is even better, by far for the same purpose. It's more comfortable in every way.
My only criticism is the smaller capacity of the gas tank and having to stop for gas all the more often. That said, I love this bike overall.
I have set it up with case guards and a excellent tail rack.
Next month I plan to ride it from NM to PA with my tent, sleeping bag, and a few extras. I can't wait for the trip.
Bring on the weather, I'm prepared for it. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll get to see a tornado. Would love to see a severe lightning storm.[/size]

If you liked touring on the CB750F, you'll do fine on the CB11. I've never had a dedicated touring bike, just threw the tent and gear on the back of whatever standard bike I owned and hit the highway.

With the rear rack, you should have plenty of room for camping gear. This was mine a couple of years ago on a riding/camping trip in the Rockies.


Be careful what you wish for. If you can see a tornado, you're often within range of the large hail that usually accompanies it.

BTW, I grew up just down the road from you in Las Cruces. Stopped in Deming a couple of weeks ago on my way to L.C. to visit the family.
