I did that too, only was able to mostly hold it up. Did scratch the bottom of the crankcase cover, and the edge of the center stand tang. Never bothered to replace them. Mine's a draft horse, not a show horse. Oh it's also got little rock chips in the paint in the front of the tank. Not replacing it either. If that's all the scars it ever gets, I would be thrilled, but certainly expect it to get more over it's lifetime.
