I started riding in '67 and I honestly can't say how many bikes I've owned but there have been everything for Nortons(3) to Harleys (4) to Ducati and even a Royal Enfield Interceptor.
I've had my CB since mid May and just rolled 2500 mi. I sold my K75 BMW and traded my Road Star 1600 for it. And though I seriously miss that R* I have been really happy with my choice. It is not the fastest or the best handling or most powerful bike I've owned but I really think it may be the most enjoyable ride I've ever had. It does not thrill with performance in any one area but is subtly exceptional in all.
The power and torque are more than enough to keep me amused and it you give it its' thirst for revs it'll surprise you. The handling is easy and forgiving and make quick riding easy and enjoyable without a lot of effort.
It is as easy to take on a quick errand in town as it is for a quick run over back roads.
I can see where someone who wants to be "blown away" by a bikes experience could be underwhelmed by it. But I find it quietly and competently performs so many roles.
