For the purpose of mounting soft saddlebags I have deiced to mount a set of temporary rear signals that will only be used for trips. My plan is as follows.
1. Create a connection, using OEM Honda connectors, under the seat so that the stock signals can be unplugged without the pain of getting down to the battery box.
2. Mount some light weight aftermarket signals to the licence plate bracket in place of the red reflectors.
3. finish them with OEM Honda connectors that will plug in in place of the stock units.
I will not try and do the wiring in the channel under the seat but will merely run them externally up the fender and under the seat. Given that they will only be on a couple of times a year this seems easiest.
Does anyone see an issue or potential problem with this? Finally how the heck do I get the stock signals off? Do I need to take the side brackets with turn signals still mounted and then remove the signals from the backside?
